Birding Itinerary - Sample Only

Day 1 -(D..) Arrive PX 393 Singapore to Port Moresby, meet greet and transfer to Gateway Hotel by Country Tours staff. After check in proceed to PM birding at Pacific Adventist University (PAU). Overnight Gateway Hotel (3 nights)

Day 2 (BLD) Full very early morning birding to Varirata Forest- Sogeri

Day 3 (BLD) Full day very early morning birding to Lea lea area along the Brown River Valley.

Day 4 (BLD) Pick up from the Hotel by Country Tours staff and transfer to flight CG1312 Port Moresby to Tabubil, meet and transfer to Lodge- Overnight Hotel Cloud lands (3 nights)

Day 5 (BLD) Full day very early morning birding around Star Mountain Forests

Day 6 (BLD) Full day birding around Tabubil forest area. Thu Day 7 (BLD) Road tour Tabubil to Kiunga birding enroute. Arrive Kiunga and overnight Kiunga Quest House. (3 nights)

Day 8 (BLD) Full day birding in Kiunga Sat Day 9 (BLD) Early morning boat trip up the mighty Fly River and onto Elevala River to Ekame/ Kwatu Lodge. Birding enroute Overnight Kwatu Lodge, a locally owned basic Guest House.

Day 10 (BLD) Full day early morning birding around the Ekame/ Kwatu Lodge. PM Return down river by boat from Ekame to Kiunga -Overnight Kiunga Guest House Mon Day 11 (BLD) Transfer to flight CG1413 Kiunga to Mt Hagen. Meet and transfer by Country Tours Staff to Kumul Bird View Lodge. Overnight Kumul Lodge. (3 nights)

Day 12 (BLD) Full day early morning birding.

Day 13 (BLD) Full day birding to Kama village and surrounds.

Day 14 (BLD) Road transfer by coaster bus from Mt Hagen to Tari and arrive Ambua forest. The drive will take approximately 7-8 hours. Overnight Ambua Country Lodge, a locally owned Eco-Lodge build in the forest near Ambua Gap. A perfect place to stay especially for nature lovers and bird watchers. PM birding/nature walks around the lodge with local guides .

Day 15 (BLD) Full day birding Sat

Day 16 (BLD) Full day birding.

Day 17 (BLD) Full day early morning birding to the farmlands .

Day 18 (BLD) Transfer to flight PX flight PX865 Tari to Port Moresby, meet and transfer to connect to your onwards departure flight PX 392 Port Moresby to Singapore.

Land cost includes: Twin share accommodation, all meals dinner on day 1 to breakfast on the last day, guides, airport transfers, site entry fees and government taxes.
