28th to 29th October, 2020
The Bakovi Tribe of Talasea, West New Britain, invite you to join them in a cultural celebration promoting peace and unity in their community.
‘Wakasiri’ means to showcase, and this festival promises to be a unique cultural showcase exhibiting traditional dances and rituals of the Bola speaking people of Bakovi.
Discover the fascinating history of the Bakovi people who traveled from Madang thousands of years ago bringing with them beliefs and practices that are apparent in the names of many places in the Talasea area.
