Port Moresby Nature Park

With over 145,000 visitors annually, Port Moresby Nature Park is Papua New Guinea's highest visited attraction inspiring through education the guardianship of PNG's unique natural environment.

Spread over 30 acres and located next to the University of Papua New Guinea, the park is home to over 450 native animals and hundreds of plant species, many of which are rarely seen outside of PNG.

 It is PNG's only internationally recognized wildlife park that sets the benchmark in PNG for tourism, animal welfare and community nature-based education. 

Nature Park received a historic award at the Zoo and Aquarium Association of Australasia (ZAA) Gala Awards in 2016 for its ‘Sister Zoo Capacity Development Partnership Program’.  Then in 2018, they received a ZAA Education Award for its ‘World Wildlife Week Program’.

The parks popular features include: WWII Walk-Through Aviary, Tree Kangaroo Trail, Bird of Paradise Precinct, Rainforest Retreat, Cassowary Corridor, Nature’s Café and plenty more.

Shuttle buses and guided tours are available through booking.
