Welcome to the Papua New Guinea Tourism Authority Website
Wildlife Worldwide
Wildlife Worldwide are the tailor-made specialists, providing fantastic opportunities to see wildlife worldwide including Papua New Guinea and the South Pacific.

A true unspoilt wilderness, PNG offers unrivalled bird watching, diving, trekking and cultural experiences. Home to 1,000 different tribal groups speaking over 800 languages, this tropical island is a place of extraordinary cultural diversity, and – despite the efforts of missionaries over the centuries – still a land of magic and spirits.

PNG boasts a dramatic coastline and the largest area of intact rainforest outside of the Amazon. The country supports a dazzling array of wildlife, flora and fauna including an abundance of orchids, and more than 700 species of bird. No less than 38 of the 43 known birds of paradise species live here, and the magnificent raggiana is the national emblem. There are also rarer finds such as the fire-maned bowerbird and the crested berrypecker.

The coastline boasts scenery from lush rainforest to towering volcanoes, and from flooded caldera to pristine white sand beach. Enjoy swimming and snorkelling in some of the world’s clearest, most unspoilt waters.

Discover PNG on the Orion. Since its launch in late 2003, the Orion, and its sister ship Orion II, have become regarded as the leading expedition cruise vessels in the Asia Pacific region, providing unique and meaningful experiences in amazing destinations including PNG. Carrying around 100 passengers, these vessels provide comfort, safety and five star service, while venturing into locations that larger ships simply cannot access.

Whether you are looking for a luxury ocean voyage or a tailor-made land-based adventure staying at lodges and resorts; when it comes to the call of the wild, our team of knowledgeable and friendly experts are ready to help you plan the trip of a lifetime.
